On December 6, a total of 24 tons of walnut kernel from Xinjiang Aksu property was exported to Iraq for the first time via Shekou, Shenzhen, under the supervision of Aksu Customs under Urumqi Customs.
With unique water, soil, light, and heat resources,the Aksu Prefecture is the main producer of high-quality fruit and thin-skinned walnuts in Tarim Basin. And is known as the “Hometown of Walnuts in China”.In recent years, a large number of walnuts and walnut kernels have been exported to foreign markets. Aksu Customs have taken the initiative to implement policies based on enterprises and optimize supervision, established a mechanism for customs leaders to focus on, and keep in touch with enterprises "point to point" to continuously expand the export channels of agricultural and sideline products and help rural revitalization.
According to statistics, in the first 10 months of 2022, enterprises under the jurisdiction of Aksu Customs exported about 7400 tons of walnuts and walnut kernels to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Türkiye, Iraq and other countries and regions.
