Russia has reduced export duties on sunflower seeds from the post-Baikal border region

On June 13, 2024, the Russian government issued a decision to reduce the basic export tariff rate of sunflower seeds in the post-Baikal border region to 6.5% until July 31, 2024 (inclusive), but only for sunflower seeds exported from ports in the region, with a quota of 1,523 tons. According to the original regulations, the export tax rate of sunflower seeds is 50% as of August 31, 2024. The move is aimed at ensuring the profitability of sunflower growers in the region without processing.
