A small sunflower seed is sold to more than 90 countries and regions on five continents from Bayan Nur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

The Department of Commerce of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region said on the news on November 25 that sunflower seeds in Bayan Nur City contribute to the revitalization of local villages by foreign trade.

According to the news, Bayan Nur City, located in Hetao Plain, China, has become a distribution center for sunflower seed processing and export across the country. At present, there are 130 seed processing and export enterprises with an annual processing capacity of 600000 tons. In addition to processing sunflower seeds grown locally, it also collects and processes sunflower seeds from Chifeng City, Xilingol League, Xinjiang, Gansu, and even Kazakhstan and Russia, which are sold to more than 90 countries and regions on five continents.

According to the statistics of the Department of Commerce of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Bayan Nur City can increase the per capita income of 800000 farmers and herdsmen of the city by 4000 yuan per year by exporting only seed kernel products.

At present, the city has built three major agricultural means of trade markets, opening up a large channel for sunflowers to connect with domestic and international markets; with the help of the local China Europe Express, the sunflower industry here has officially boarded the "the Belt and Road" Express.
